NewsroomNewburgh Waterfront Charrette Preview to be Held on January 20thAuthor: LeylandAlliance LLC1/19/2007 Qualifications of Project Team will be presented by Master Developer WHEN: Saturday, January 20, 2007, 10:00 AM – 12 Noon WHERE: Board of Education Auditorium, 124 Grand Street, 2nd Floor, Newburgh, NY WHAT: LeylandAlliance LLC, the developers for the Newburgh Waterfront project, will present the credentials and qualifications of the project team that is conducting the upcoming planning charrette for the site. Leading the team is Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company (DPZ), the highly respected architectural firm that is in the vanguard of planning New Urbanist communities across the United States. The accomplishments of DPZ and other key consultants will be shown, and a preview of the charrette process will be made to inform the public, who are encouraged to attend. WHY: The Newburgh Waterfront project is one of the most important and vital undertakings for the City of Newburgh in recent history. Its is expected to revitalize the downtown section of the city and provide a long-awaited and much-needed mix of housing, commercial and retail spaces in a cherished location near the waterfront that was cleared during a period of urban renewal but never redeveloped. The Newburgh Waterfront project is a public-private initiative between the City of Newburgh and LeylandAlliance.
